6,500+ FOUNDERS EDUCATED & MENTORED

As General Manager and Head Mentor of Launch Academy, Vancouver's largest startup hub, I worked directly with over 6,500 founders between 2014 and 2020. Launch Academy was a physical space in downtown Vancouver where hundreds of startups built their companies.

My role was hands-on. I ran the mentorship program, led workshops, reviewed pitch decks, helped founders navigate fundraising, co-founder conflicts, pivots, and the hundred other things that come with building a company from nothing.

This wasn't a course with a certificate. It was years of sitting across from people who were figuring it out in real time, and helping them see what I saw.

$2.5B+ RAISED BY FOUNDERS I WORKED WITH

The founders who came through Launch Academy collectively raised over $1 billion. Hundreds of companies advanced to Seed or Series A rounds. Some went much further.

I didn't raise this money. They did. But I was there for the pitch prep, the strategy sessions, the late nights before investor meetings. My job was to help them see their business clearly enough to make the case. The fundraising numbers are theirs. The work we did together is what got them ready.

03

22 BUSINESSES ACROSS THREE COUNTRIES

Twenty-two is not a brag. It's a record of someone who kept building, kept learning, and kept starting over when life demanded it. Some were ventures I built from scratch. Some were companies I helped build inside larger organizations. Some worked. Some didn't. All of them taught me something.

DAMASCUS & DUBAI

Built my first business in Damascus before the word "startup" existed in Arabic.

Acqui-hired by Rubicon Group Holding (the Disney of the Middle East), where I helped build 10 companies internally.

Founded a content and digital agency in Dubai. Clients included Virgin Mobile, Pfizer, Starbucks, Jumeirah Group, Saadiyat Island, and the team behind Burj Khalifa.

Led the number one BNI chapter in the UAE. 80+ members. Won three awards including a global recognition and the Pan Arab Excellence Award.

VANCOUVER

Arrived with zero local network. Spent three months reaching out to 6,000 people on LinkedIn. Built everything from conversations.

Became General Manager and Head Mentor at Launch Academy.

Co-founded CreativeArab, the largest online marketplace of Middle Eastern art.

Co-founded Next Decentrum, a blockchain and AI company. Raised over $5M across ventures. Exited two startups.

Led marketing for TEDxStanleyPark.

The number matters less than the pattern: every time the ground shifted, I built something new. That's not instability. That's the skill I now teach.

2 EXITS, RAISED OVER $5M

I've raised over $5 million across my ventures in Vancouver and exited two startups. These weren't billion-dollar outcomes. They were real businesses built by small teams solving real problems, that reached a point where someone else wanted to take them further.

The fundraising and exit experience matters because it's what my clients are often navigating. I know what it feels like to pitch when you're not sure it'll work. I know what it feels like to let go of something you built. That lived experience is part of what I bring to the table.

06

3 CITIES. STARTED OVER EACH TIME.

Damascus. Where I was born, studied engineering, fell in love with design, and built my first business.

Dubai. Where I built an agency, led a community, worked with global brands, and learned what it means to perform at the highest level.

Vancouver. Where I arrived with nothing, rebuilt from scratch, mentored thousands, and found the work I was always meant to do.

Each move was a full reset. New country, new language dynamics, new network, new rules. The transition expertise I bring to my clients isn't theoretical. I've lived it three times over.

THE WORK

A few examples of what happens when we sit down together. Names and details changed.

THE FOUNDERS WHO COULDN'T AGREE

Two technical co-founders, deep in development, burning through runway. They had a working product and couldn't agree on what the company actually was. One saw a consumer product. The other saw a data business. Every conversation ended in the same loop.

We sat down and I asked one question: if everything works, what are you in five years? Turns out they weren't disagreeing. They were both right, just at different stages. The argument was a roadmap they hadn't drawn yet.

We drew it. They stopped fighting.

THE PRACTITIONER WITH HUNDREDS OF GRADUATES AND NO BUSINESS

A practitioner who'd built a training program with a loyal following. Hundreds of graduates. The work was transformative. Students kept coming back to say it had changed how they practiced. But the business didn't reflect any of that. The offering was underpriced. There was no structure to keep people connected after they finished. And the audience showing up wasn't the audience the work was designed for.

We mapped the whole thing. A framework for going back to the best graduates and hearing, in their own words, what actually shifted. A restructured set of offerings where the pricing matched what the work was worth. And a path toward the people who needed this most, not through different marketing, but through a different offering shaped around what they specifically needed.

The work was already there. The business caught up.

THE ONE WHO COULDN'T NAME IT

Someone with a background in science who'd spent years doing something people kept paying for but neither side could name. It wasn't consulting. It wasn't coaching the way people package coaching. It was conversations that changed how people saw themselves and their decisions. There was demand. There was repeat business. But there was no structure and no language for what it actually was.

We threw out the conventional framework. Stop looking for a product. Stop trying to find a market. Where does value already flow from you to other people, and where are they already giving something back? Once we mapped that, everything clarified. The work he'd been doing informally was the center. He just hadn't given himself permission to build around it.

He stopped trying to fit a category and started building around what was already working.

THE ARTIST NAVIGATING A LEGACY

An artist responsible for a significant collection that needed to reach the international market. The work had history and real value, but the way it was being presented didn't match. The positioning was off. The story around the collection was outdated. Galleries and auction houses weren't engaging.

We repositioned the estate. What to feature, what to hold back, how to frame the collection for the people who needed to take it seriously.

The work didn't change. How the world encountered it did.

THE ONE WHO CAME BACK

Someone I'd worked with early in their career. Brief engagement. My services were out of their budget at the time, but I gave them what I could in a conversation and we went separate ways.

Over a decade later, they found me again. Not because they needed help. Because that conversation had landed. They'd built something real. Their practice was thriving. One conversation, years ago, had shaped how they approached their work ever since.

Not every story has a dramatic arc. Sometimes it's one conversation, and you find out much later that it mattered.
